The aim of this workshop is to catalyze and advance Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research in the Philippines by fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and practitioners. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, we aim to explore innovative approaches and solutions to contemporary HCI challenges in the Philippine context. Over-all, the goal is to provide attendees of the workshop an improved sense of how we can do and grow HCI research in the Philippines. We invite early-career and experienced researchers alike who are interested in conducting HCI research in the Philippines and who share in this mission.
We invite submissions of works-in-progress, interactive demos, and position papers that contribute to the advancement of HCI research in the Philippines. Submissions should address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Juried submissions will undergo review by a committee, albeit through a less rigorous process compared to refereed submissions, and typically do not involve an author’s response or conditional acceptance. Unlike refereed content, juried submissions are not expected to make the same level of lasting and significant contributions to our knowledge and understanding. Authors can anticipate receiving light feedback, usually consisting of up to a few paragraphs in length.
Authors are invited to check out these submissions if they need help or inspiration regarding their submissions.

Position Paper: Auda, J., Gruenefeld, U., & Mayer, S. (2020). It Takes Two To Tango: Conflicts Between Users on the Reality-Virtuality Continuum and Their Bystanders. In XR@ ISS.
Accepted papers will be invited for shepherding during the workshop. Authors will be assigned a PC member who will mentor their paper towards producing a publishable output. Successful outputs will be included in the workshop proceedings which will be announced soon. The proceedings will be archival and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and advancements in HCI research in the Philippines.
The workshop will be held as part of the Philippine Computing Science Congress (PCSC), the premier annual computing conference in the Philippines. More information about the venue will be provided closer to the event date.
